  • Question: How do you communicate with parents?
    • Answer: We use the band app, facebook and this site to communicate however the band app will have the most up-to-date information.
  • Question: What equipment does my child need to wrestle?
    • Answer: Wrestling shoes, that is really the only requirement for wrestling. We practice in shorts, t-shirts and wrestling shoes. If you are interested in trying it out before you commit, we probably have a pair of shoes you can borrow for practice.
  • Question: When and where is wrestling practice?
    • Answer: We practice during the week at either the Trojan Wrestling Club (6397 Hudson Chapel Road, Catawba, NC) or at Bandys High School. Please check out the Schedule page for details about specific days, ages and times.
  • Question: Can my daughter wrestle?
  • Question: What are the rules of wrestling?
  • Question: When are the matches and what’s involved?
    • Answer(s): Typically on Saturdays, although some tournaments, especially Rookie Tournaments (1st and 2nd year wrestlers) are on Sundays.
    • We will also partner with other area clubs to offer scrimmage sessions, where our kids can get some mat time with no pressure of wins/losses – just working to get better.
    • Wrestling in tournaments is encouraged but NOT required. Whether you decide to wrestle or not is completely up to you.
    • Tournaments cost around $25-$30 to enter and most all registrations are through www.trackwrestling.com (look under their “events” tab). Coaches and veteran parents can help new wrestling parents navigate tournaments and registrations, please ask….we have a great community of parents.
  • Question: How does the Trojan Wrestling Club contribute?
    • Answer(s): TWC contributes heavily to the Mill Creek and Bandys Wrestling programs.
      • We have helped purchase new wrestling mats for each of the teams, wrestling room equipment, singlets, camps, camp scholarships, clinicians, dual team competitions and weight room equipment.
    • We’ve made improvements to our club room by adding a subfloor, WiFi and workout equipment.
    • We are always evaluating ways to help “Row the Boat” for the program and our wrestlers.
